Utilizing the technology for Personal Development

In past few decades, the technology landscape changed immensely. The change was evident due to increasing innovation and culture of entrepreneurship throughout the globe.

Now, the use of technology in our day to day life raises several questions as of how are we indulging with technology?

For e.g, a teenager wastes 25 to 30 hours a week on Facebook scrolling and viewing pages. However, a businessman advertises on Facebook and spends 6 to 10 hours a week making millions out of it. The amount of gain out of this is questionable and can not be evaluated with a single parameter. The teenager might be utilizing his remaining time very efficiently and is using Facebook to gain knowledge and for taking a break from his routine. The businessman may have millions in loan and have a bad habit of spending much more than earnings.

Using technology for Personal Development saves our time and efforts and increases our productivity. The visibility you can see from Day 1 of implementation.

In this post, I would be writing about the applications which can simplify your needs, increases your productivity and has utility for Personal Development.
  • Todoist : Planning the present and future is of utmost importance. We all have only 24 hours in a day, seven days in a week and so on and so forth. No one gets more, no one gets less. Time Management is one of the most important aspects of life for a goal oriented person. We all have certain goals in our life. I found the Todoist application very useful in planning my life better. It is available across all platforms and user can access the basic features for free. You can add tasks and mark the due dates, repeat it based on your necessity, plan tasks and categorize them in projects. It also has a point enabled feature which categorizes a user based on the daily task completion goal. It will prove very useful to you since you do not have to worry about remembering or to plan or to prioritize your tasks.

  • Meetup : If you want to express yourself and want to collaborate with other persons with the same interest, then you can use Meetup to reach your goals. This social networking application can be utilized for offline meetings in and around your area. The person can join the groups based on the interest and can collaborate with others. I recommend this to my readers as it has special significance due to offline collaboration. The man is a social animal and some way or another the digital implementation is making our interactions with others mostly in a virtual environment. The Meetup is promoting the real world interaction between individuals through offline meetings. The Meetup itself says: Starting a Meetup Group is the perfect way to share your interests and spark new friendships.

  • Goodreads : This social networking application is a must for Readers and Learners. In a way, it let the user count their age in terms of books read so far. You can set the reading goals for a year. You can add the Books into your shelves from the enormous database of Books. You can also rate and review the books read and can also see what your friends and family are reading. I recommend registering the application through your Facebook account so that more collaboration can be achieved. The tracking of your current readings, the evaluation of your past readings and the plan to read the books in future will be simplified once you will start utilizing this application.

  • Wikipedia : This free encyclopedia is the one of the greatest innovation and creation by humans and has details about almost anything you can think of. I request readers to not only refer this in need but also to spend their leisure reading articles. The knowledge will grow exponentially. The reference to articles from one to another creates a series of reading paths and groom us about the topic we are interested in the best way possible.

  • Duolingo : For your international travel, for interaction with the persons from different geography and to understand the content in a language different from your native ones, the new language learning is essential and proves of great importance. The Duolingo is one of the best language learning application and is available free to the users. The course content and the path laid for learning the new language is appreciable as I found it very interesting and very easy as well. I recommend this application to all the readers and want you to learn at least one new language this year.

  • Twitter : This social networking site is very unique in many ways. I personally call it a medium to Express Yourself. The important aspect is to follow your passion here and develop them even further with the enormous community it has. You can understand the topics more by following Persons who excelled in the field and can simultaneously grow by being the part of the community. And once persons start noticing you here, you understand that you are doing good in which you are passionate about.
